Quetico Canoe Trips
Neil Thielke volunteers his time and equipment to guide canoe trips to the Canadian Quetico wilderness canoe area for one week each summer. Each canoe party may include up to nine people who share expenses for travel and food. If you are interested, contact Neil at: nthielke@hometownsolutions.net |
| Hog Roasts
Hog roasts are popular in west central Minnesota, and are an excellent way to serve communities, members of churches, friends, and family. Neil has made two large hog roasters from used oil barrels. The largest gathering served has been incoming new students each fall who are attending the University of Minnesota, Morris. Churches in Morris work together in putting on this gala event. |

| Chaplain for UFFDA
In addition to serving as chaplain for the United Foundation for Disabled Archers (UFFDA), Neil Thielke also serves as a guide and brings his hog cooker to help roast meat for some of the meals. UFFDA began in 1994 to help people with any type of disability who like to hunt get out into the woods at least once a year. Neil was asked to be their chaplain in 1995. The Minnesota UFFDA hunt is at Camp Wilderness near Park Rapids each fall. |

Chaplaincy Volunteer for Boy Scouts
While serving as chaplain for UFFDA, which is held at the Camp Wilderness Boy Scout camp, Neil Thielke was invited to help with the chaplaincy program for boy scouts. Neil has been scheduled the same week that the Morris Boy Scout Troup 467 has their camp each summer. What a great bunch to work with! |

Quetico Boy Scout Trip
Just as one good thing leads to another, while serving as chaplain during the Morris troup's week, Neil offered to take them on a Quetico canoe trip. They made the trip during the summer of 2008. |
